One of the Hollywood’s most successful comedian and Entertainer Jerry Lewis has died at the age of 91.
Jerry Lewis, born on March 16, 1926 – August 20, 2017 was an American actor, comedian, singer, film producer, film director, screenwriter and humanitarian. He is known for his slapstick humor in film, television, stage and radio. He and Dean Martin were partners as the hit popular comedy duo of Martin and Lewis. Following that success, he was a solo star in motion pictures, nightclubs, television shows, concerts, album recordings and musicals.
He died of natural causes at his home in Las Vegas on Sunday morning. The News was first reported in Los Angeles Journal and was later confirmed by his Agent. “Famed comedian, actor and legendary entertainer Jerry Lewis passed away peacefully today of natural causes at 91 at his home in Las Vegas with his family by his side,” the family statement said.
Tributes came in from all corners of the showbiz world, including those who worked alongside Lewis and who were inspired by him.
Jerry Lewis became one of the Highest paid Hollywood actors with hits such as The Bell Boy, Cinderfella and The Nutty Professor. Other notable successes included The King of Comedy in 1983, in which he played a talk show host stalked by Robert de Niro.
