The first accident of the day happened at approximately 8:13 Friday north of Granite on County Road 1390 and resulted in two young people being medi-flighted to OU Medical Center in critical condition.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol a 2000 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Madison Annis was eastbound on County Road 1390 when the vehicle lost control and went into a broad slide and overturning 1 3/4 before impacting a tree. The driver and two passengers were transported to Jackson County Memorial hospital. The driver was treated and released. Two passengers, Sam Annis and Hallie Annis were both medi-flighted to OU Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition.
At around 4:30 that evening a single vehicle accident occurred on County Road 201 about 1.8 miles north of Highway 62 in Jackson County that involved 4 Mangum young people.
The Highway Patrol report states that a 2001 Honda, driven by Alejandro Alvarez of Mangum was southbound on County Road 201 and due to driver’s inattention went off the left side of the road, overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go into a broad slide and impacted a utility pole.
Autumn Young of Mangum was taken to Jackson County Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released.
Another passenger, Kandice Wallwebber also of Mangum was admitted to JCMH in critical condition.
Passenger 3, 1 year old Serenit Young of Mangum was in Stable condition at JCMH.
