On August 22, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. we will have a “Welcome Home Celebration” honoring these soldiers that have recently returned from a 1 year deployment in the Middle East.

A parade beginning at the Mangum High School will travel up Oklahoma Ave. to Lincoln Street. The parade will be lead by veterans with the returning soldiers and their families.

Following the ceremony the Women’s Civic Club of Mangum will serve hot dogs, chips and drinks to those in attendance. There will also be games and prizes for everyone to enjoy.

These soldiers we are honoring have served our nation and community honorably and deserve our support. They have sacrificed greatly for the cause of freedom. Make sure and put this date on your calendar as we pay honor to these brave soldiers.

There will be a fireworks display provided by an American Legion Post 121 rider and Great Plains ABATE Chapter beginning at dusk at the Mangum Mountie Arena with support from the Mangum Fire Department.
