In the early morning hours of 09-11-09 the Greer County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call from a local farmer east of Russell. He stated that he had been burglarized and was almost run over by the suspects as they fled from the scene of his farming headquarters. During the investigation it was determined that several tools and also anhydrous ammonia was taken from the scene.

Two men were arrested.
