The extent of the damage from last week’s storm is just now being realized. Crews have been traveling around town since last week picking up limbs that had been placed by the curb, but that does not count the number of limbs that still hang by a thread on the hundreds of trees around town.

Mangum got full power toward the end of last week, but still have water pressure problems as just three of our 15 wells were working as of Monday morning. According the Mangum City Manager, Candy Richardson, the remainder of the wells should be working by Thursday.

FEMA is scheduled to be in Mangum this Thursday to assess damage and to get the ball rolling to help in our recovery.
