The 78th Mangum Mountie Rodeo events are one week away. The Mangum Mountie Rodeo will be one of the Top 9 Open Rodeos of the year. There will be cowboys and cowgirls coming from different states and towns to compete in events such as Woman's Breakaway, Roping, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, Saddle Bronc and Bareback. These cowboys and cowgirls will be competing to be first in each event to receive the $1000.00 pay out and the Championship buckle for that event. This rodeo will be a two night performance with thrills and excitement each night. The Freedom Riders will also be present each night to perform in precise horse drill team riding.

Before each night’s 8 p.m. Performance Junior Cowboys and Cowgirls will be competing in calf riding, mutton bustin, and steer riding along with donkey riding. On Saturday June 19, 2010 will be a fun filled day with all the activities down around the town square with a Quilt show, Arts and Crafts, Fiddlin-N-Pickin Contest and the Mangum Mountie Barbecue at noon.

At 3 pm the 78th Annual Mangum Mountie Rodeo Parade will begin. So make plans to come out on Friday and Saturday, June 18th and 19th for some fun and excitement at the Mangum Mountie Arena and then downtown for more fun and good food.
