Three county offices have multiple candidates with Donna Giddens retaining her position as County Assessor when she did not draw an opponent.
District #1 County Commissioner drew five candidates and District #3 drew three. The office of Greer County Treasurer is being sought by two candidates.
Five other offices of local interest have also been decided. Purcy Walker, did not draw an opponent in the State Representative District 60 position. His area covers portions of Greer and Ellis Counties as well as all of Beckham, Harmon and Roger Mills. State Representative Charles Ortega, representing District 52 which covers Jackson, Kiowa and the east portion of Greer County also ran unopposed. Greer County Associate District Judge, Danny Deaver, District 3 Judge Richard Darby and District Attorney John M. Wampler also ran unopposed and will retain their positions.
U.S. District 3 Representative Frank Lucas will face challenger Frankie Robbins in the General Election, and U.S. Senator Tom Coburn has six opponents in his race.
